"I'll Be Groped For Christmas" by Roxi Copland (TSA Edition)

Two days ago, my girl Roxi let me know about a video that she had just uploaded to her site regarding an "oh so special" experience with the TSA.

I present her blog post & video to you in honor of the busiest travel day in America (usually the Wednesday before Thanksgiving Day). My empathy goes out to everyone who has to be subject to all sorts of indignities because of the autocratic stylings of the TSA.

Here is Roxi's original blog post:

Those of you following me on Twitter and Facebook have probably noticed that I’m not a very big fan of the new security measures recently adopted by TSA. When faced with the abusive exercise of power, some people write editorials; others organize marches; still others participate in National Opt-Out Day. I write music, and so that’s what I did. Enjoy, and please feel free to share with your friends.

I’ve had a lot of folks asking me about how this thing is going, and I’m really excited to say that it’s getting a lot of attention. And this is a great thing. As you’ve obviously figured out by now, I’m less than enamoured with TSA’s “options.” As more and more news is reported, I’m becoming even less so—especially as sources are coming out with stories about shady financial relationships between TSA, the US government, and backscatter companies. See this Huffington Post article for one.

In any event, I’m happy to be a part of the fight in my own small way. I’ve received record web traffic today, and am feelin’ the love pouring in from all over. Twitter is amazing. I’ve had one TV interview today and am going to a radio interview in a few minutes. Tomorrow morning is another radio interview. I’m getting calls and emails from other news organizations every hour or so. All of you on facebook, twitter, youtube, and the rest of the world who have been sharing my video—thank you so much. Keep sharing it. Let’s let TSA know we’ve had it.
