Guess Who is a New Community Blogger for GRAMMY.com?
December 1, 2010 at 5:00 AM
Gramophone StatuetteI am finally making this announcement. This information has been trying to burst forth from me for many days.
Please excuse the excessive use of exclamation points in this blog post. :)
The 53rd Annual GRAMMY Awards® has a new member in the Community Blogger Program. Guess who it is? It's me - YAY!
Can you believe it? I have been chosen to be the GRAMMY Community Blogger for jazz!!
It would be an honor to be involved with the GRAMMYs on any level but this is an unbelievable opportunity!
Okay, so what does a GRAMMY Community Blogger do? I know that I will:
- live tweet during the GRAMMY Nominations Concert happening tonight, 1 December 2010 at 10 p.m. ET/PT
- write blog posts about the jazz category nominations, the year in review, etc.
- live tweet from different events in Los Angeles, CA during GRAMMY week including the Social Media Summit (Evan Williams from Twitter, Mashable's Pete Cashmore, et al. will probably be there), the 53rd Annual GRAMMY Awards pre-telecast, red carpet, GRAMMY Awards telecast and the after-party (OMG!)
You all have been incredibly supportive of me and my efforts to expose more people to jazz music. It is my intention to try to bring the GRAMMY experience to you as best I can. I can't even imagine all of the jazz artists that will be there!
This is so exciting!!

CONGRATULATIONS Lady D! Not only am I very, very, happy for you, I'm very proud of you. They could not have chosen a more worthy person for GRAMMY Community Blogger for jazz! Continue on your upward journey my friend. Peace, Love, and Happiness to you. G
Very cool... So will you be the "official" source for the Jazz nominations live?
Congratulations, Donna! That's wonderful news, and worth the wait. ;)
I'm really looking forward to following your stream this evening!
Congratulations Donna!!! I know that jazz will be in great hands!!!!
Lady G!
Awwww!! Thank you so much for stopping by to congratulate me and for being proud of the accomplishment.
You've known me for a good part of my journey on Twitter. I'm so happy that you've been along for the ride. Onward and upward! :D
Hi Barry!
It is very cool, isn't it? :)
I will know who the nominations are in jazz later on in the evening. I'm not in Los Angeles for the GRAMMYs Nomination Concert, though. I'll be tweeting it as I watch it being televised.
However, I will be in Los Angeles for GRAMMY week and for the pre-telecast and the main event.
If that didn't answer your question, please let me know.
Congratulations Donna! Making big moves. Dig!
Hi James!
Thank you for stopping by to congratulate me! This is truly a great thing for me to be a part of. YAY! :)
Hey Josh!
Thank you - yes, it looks that way, doesn't it? I am blessed. :)
Jim!
You were so patient - thank you! The stream should be interesting since I've (gulp) never actually watched the GRAMMY Nomination Concert. I don't have any idea of what they can cover within an hour long broadcast.
I'm not even certain if jazz will even be mentioned (I hope that it will be).
