A few weeks ago I told you about a project that the Jason Parker Quartet (JPQ) hopes to fund by December 24th, 2010. It is Jason's interpretation of British singer and songwriter Nick Drake's debut album "Five Leaves Left". Once again, the best way for me to share with you Jason's passion regarding the recording of this music (and info about the Kickstarter fundraising project he started) is to watch the following video:

In the video, Jason refers to packages that are "to his right".  The packages are listed on the actual Kickstarter fundraising page. You can see what he is offering as an incentive to pledge money to the project here.

Now, I'd like you to get to know a couple of the members of the group. Find out how Evan Flory-Barnes and Josh Rawlings feel about Drake's music and what completing the project (and having it fully funded) would mean to them.

Joining the core group of JPQ members on this Nick Drake project are two talented and well regarded musicians - vocalist Michele Khazak and saxophonist Cynthia Mullis.  Listen to them share what it's like performing with the JPQ:

There are two weeks left until the deadline. This project has 59% of the $5,000 needed to make this dream a reality.

Gone are the days of over-inflated pricing set by the major record labels to support senior management salaries and lifestyles. You know where your money is going with the creation of this album.

Are you willing to help? Please go to the Nick Drake Project KickStarter page here or click on the JPQ widget at the top of the right column on this web page.

Thank you for keeping music and the creative process alive.
