Jazz News You Can Use: A New Jazz Video Website to Distract You From Work!
Do you ever get frustrated when looking for jazz on YouTube? A less than satisfactory search is typically caused by bad, dubious or non-existent tagging done by the person that uploaded the video.
Well, I've been introduced to a viable solution to that problem. One of my Twitter followers (@bluesatch) asked me to check out his friend's website, InternetJazzArchive.com, that was launched this past Friday. On first and second look, it appears to go a long way in filling the void on the Web of dedicated jazz performance video websites.
The InternetJazzArchive.com's video inventory is organized by instrument, style, documentary/interview, festivals/venues, and ensembles.
This looks promising to me. Yes, I realize that it's pulling a lot of videos from YouTube but the videos are now more readily accessible with fewer keystrokes.
I'll revisit it in a month or so to check out the depth and breadth of the inventory.
What do you think about this? Are there any suggestions that you have for the webmaster that I could pass on? Let me know. Thanks!
