1st Look - Vocalist Sachal Vasandani's New album "Hi-Fly" Video + 2011 Tour Dates

Sachal Vasandani and Jon HendricksSachal Vasandani is an up and coming vocalist/composer that has already garnered distinction by winning DownBeat's "Rising Star" poll in 2010.  

Vasandani's third Mack Avenue release, Hi-Fly, confirms the high praise showered on its two predecessors and proves the singer is one of the freshest, most versatile artists to emerge onto the scene in recent memory.

Produced by renowned GRAMMY® award winning bassist John Clayton along with GRAMMY® nominated Al Pryor, and featuring the great Jon Hendricks, Hi-Fly is an exciting mix of standards, originals and pop covers showcasing Vasandani's ability to filter a wide range of material through his highly individual vision.

Sachal is backed by Jeb Patton on piano, David Wong on bass and Kendrick Scott on drums (I don't know who is on the horn - could be Sean Jones, but that's just a guess). This looks and sounds like a great project. I've liked Sachal since I discovered him long ago on *gasp* MySpace. :)
