Jason Parker Quartet's Project - "A Jazz Tribute to Nick Drake" - Update

(l-r) Evan Flory-Barnes, D'Vonne Lewis, Jason Parker and Josh Rawlings

A few weeks ago I told you about a project that the Jason Parker Quartet (JPQ) hopes to fund by December 24th, 2010. It is Jason's interpretation of British singer and songwriter Nick Drake's debut album "Five Leaves Left". Once again, the best way for me to share with you Jason's passion regarding the recording of this music (and info about the Kickstarter fundraising project he started) is to watch the following video:

A Jazz Tribute to Nick Drake - "Five Leaves Left" by the Jason Parker Quartet

Jason Parker and I became friends on Twitter in 2009. You may be saying to yourself, "Friends?" How can she call someone a friend if she has only known him online? Well, I'm here to testify that Jason and I are indeed friends. It was easily confirmed when I hung out with the Jason Parker Quartet during my visit to the Pacific NW in September 2010.

The members of the Jason Parker Quartet (JPQ) - Jason is a trumpeter, pianist Josh Rawlings, bassist Evan Flory-Barnes, and drummer D'Vonne Lewis - are like brothers to me.

JP has discussed the concept of the next JPQ album with me for a few months now. It is his interpretation of British singer and songwriter Nick Drake's debut album "Five Leaves Left".  The best way for me to share with you Jason's passion regarding the recording of this music (and info about the Kickstarter fundraising project he started) is to watch the following video:
