Hitlab, in Partnership with The Recording Academy®, Launches Emerging Talent Competition

PRESS RELEASE

HITLAB INC. ("Hitlab") is pleased to announce that it has partnered with The Recording Academy® (grammy.com) — internationally known for the annual GRAMMY Awards — for a unique opportunity to give an unsigned, up-and-coming artist or band the chance to perform at the 3rd Annual Social Media Rock Stars Summit, an official GRAMMY Week event. The "Emerging Talent Competition" launched on Nov. 2, and the winning artist will perform a set at the reception for SMRSS on Feb. 10, 2012, the Friday before the 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards. Part of the performance will be streamed live on GRAMMY.com and CBS.com as part of The Academy's GRAMMY Live coverage during the three days leading up to the telecast.

The Emerging Talent Competition is open to unsigned artists worldwide from Nov. 2 through Dec. 31, 2011. After original music is submitted to the contest's web page (hitlab.com/grammycontest), it will be analyzed by Hitlab's patented algorithms and 10 finalists will be announced Jan. 9, 2012. The final winner will be decided upon by a combination of online voting and a Blue Ribbon Panel, announced on Jan. 25, 2012, and subsequently flown to Los Angeles during GRAMMY Week to perform at the SMRSS reception. Additionally, the winner will be invited to walk the red carpet and attend the 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards and official GRAMMY Celebration®after-party on Feb. 12. Hitlab will also have a dedicated blog for the contest winner on GRAMMY.com, and facilitate promotion of the winning song on official GRAMMY social media platforms.

Hi Nigel!

Thanks for the comment - I can't wait to see how this competition ends. I'm very curious about what sort of artists will make it in to the finals.

Stay tuned!
