 JPQ (l-r) Evan Flory-Barnes (b), D'Vonne Lewis (d), Jason Parker (t, fl), Josh Rawlings (p)

Here's some news that I'm happy to share with you! Back in November of 2010, I let you know about Jason Parker Quartet's kickstarter campaign they held to raise money to record "Five Leaves Left: A Tribute to Nick Drake".

Thank you to my readers that contributed money to the project! The Jason Parker Quartet (JPQ) were successful in reaching their monetary goal. They went into the studio right after Christmas 2010 and drumroll, please.......

The "Five Leaves Left: A Tribute to Nick Drake" is ready (for pre-order)! The digital version of the album will be available on 29 March 2011 while the CD will be released in April. YAY!

The personnel on this project:

Jason Parker - trumpet & flugelhorn
Josh Rawlings - piano
Evan Flory-Barnes - bass
D'Vonne Lewis - drums

With special guests:
Michele Khazak - vocals
Cynthia Mullis - tenor sax & flute

Check out the first single "Day is Done" below and let me know how you like it.

Want to know more about the album? Here's a link to Jason Parker's blog post about the finished product.

Can't wait to get it in your hot little hands or on your iPod? You should definitely visit here.

Once again, thank you to my readers that helped to make this happen! YAY! :)
