Are you in the New York City area? You should plan to see live jazz in the form of guitarist Mike Stern with saxophonist Bob Malach, bassist Esperanza Spalding and drummer Lionel Cordew! There will be a five (5) night engagement (21st-25th June 2011) at the cozy Iridium Jazz Club at 51st and Broadway.
The lead is Mike Stern - some of my readers that have been around for awhile may remember him from his stint in the mid '70s with the jazz-rock band Blood, Sweat and Tears. Or, you may recall him as part of Miles Davis' small combo in the beginning of the 80s that also included saxophonist Bill Evans and bass player Marcus Miller.
