Life Forum Creates a Meeting Place for Meaningful Musical Exchange

Pianist Gerald Clayton will release his debut recording with Concord Jazz, Life Forum, on April 2, 2013 (international release dates may vary). This 12-song set combines Clayton's highly skilled trio members, bassist Joe Sanders and drummer Justin Brown with saxophonists Logan Richardson and Dayna Stephens and trumpeter Ambrose Akinmusire. Vocalists Gretchen Parlato and Sachal Vasandani and poet Carl Hancock Rux complete the ensemble.

Kendrick Scott's Oracle Shows "Conviction" - New CD Drops In March 2013!

FYI: Concord Music Group has the release date of Conviction as 26 March 2013. Amazon.com, however, has the CD coming out on 29 January 2013. Hopefully, it will be available sooner rather than later. ~ DM

With the 2007 release of The Source -- his debut recording as a leader -- drummer and composer Kendrick Scott established a reputation right out of the gate as an explorer, someone with a generous measure of wisdom and insight to counterbalance his youth and newcomer status.

Nearly six years later, Scott and his band continue to dig beneath the surface to find the deeper truths in Conviction, their new CD scheduled for release on Concord Jazz on March 26, 2013 (international release dates may vary). As the title suggests, Conviction is the vehicle by which Kendrick and company look past the mundane and examine the motivating forces that propel us through life, even in those times when the greater truths are obscured by the tedium of the everyday.
