Online Application Deadline For "GRAMMY In The Schools®" Program is October 22nd, 2011!

When I attended GRAMMY week activities earlier this year, I became aware of the engaging program that The GRAMMY Foundation has for jazz singers and musicians in high school. During my first evening in Los Angeles, I saw the culmination of some of that dedication when the GRAMMY Jazz Ensemble performed with bassist Esperanza Spalding at Spaghettini's Grill and Lounge!

(Sept. 29, 2011) — The GRAMMY Foundation is currently accepting applications for its 2012 GRAMMY Camp^®, GRAMMY Camp – Jazz Session, (formerly GRAMMY^®Jazz Ensembles ) and GRAMMY Signature Schools programs for high school students and high school music programs. These programs are part of the Foundation's GRAMMY in the Schools^® offerings and are supported in part by Best Buy and Converse.

Donna in Los Angeles for the 53rd Annual GRAMMY Awards - Day 1

There is so much that I want to share with you! Okay - Here's Day 1:

 Hilton Checkers HotelI was one of the first Community Bloggers to arrive at our "home away from home" for the next four nights. The downtown boutique hotel that we were staying at is owned and operated by Hilton Hotels (@HiltonOnline). It's a historic hotel that dates back to the 1920s, fully restored to its original splendor.

The Hilton staff was professional, courteous, and amazing. They all made it seem effortless. Really. I can't say enough about how well the staff treated me. :)
