A Note from the Jazz Director of Newark Academy:
The Evening of Jazz has been an annual concert at Newark Academy to showcase its numerous jazz ensembles. This year we are dedicating our concert to the families of Sandy Hook and the Greene family. We will have three world class musicians joining our award-winning jazz program for the evening - Marcus Printup, trumpeter of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra; Steve Turre, trombonist currently with the Saturday Night Live Band; and Wayne Escoffery, tenor saxophonist currently with both Tom Harrells Quintet and the Mingus Big Band.
